Tree Stand

Discover the Lazio Christmas tree, exclusively available in Quebec at Sapin Chez Michel. Known for its spectacular silvery-blue foliage, it stands among the bluest natural Christmas trees. Its magical appearance and delicate citrus fragrance make it a truly distinctive holiday centrepiece.

This premium Quebec-grown Christmas tree also offers excellent needle retention and stays fresh indoors when properly watered. Its slower growth and demanding cultivation make it a rare and sought-after variety.

Order your Lazio Christmas tree online with delivery in Montreal, Laval, and the Greater Montreal area, or visit our stand at Jean-Talon Market.

How do I set up my Christmas tree?

Proper installation is essential to keeping your Christmas tree fresh throughout the holiday season.

All our trees are delivered with a fresh cut at the base of the trunk. We recommend placing your tree in its stand and adding water as soon as possible after delivery.

If you plan to wait several hours before setting it up, it's best to trim approximately 1–2 cm (½ inch) from the base of the trunk before placing it in water.

Make sure your tree stand is sturdy, suitable for your tree's size, and large enough to hold an adequate supply of water. For larger trees, we recommend having two people handle the installation.

How do I care for my Christmas tree?

A natural Christmas tree requires very little maintenance. The secret to keeping it beautiful and fresh into January? Water, plain and simple!

The first few days are especially important. Your tree may absorb a significant amount of water, particularly during the first 48–72 hours. Check the water level regularly and make sure the base of the trunk always remains submerged.

Keep your tree away from radiators, fireplaces, and other heat sources. A cooler environment will help preserve its freshness and minimize needle loss.

A tip from Michel: set a daily reminder on your phone to check the water level. Your tree will thank you!

How do I dispose of my Christmas tree after the holidays?

After the holidays, your natural Christmas tree can have a second life through recycling and organic waste recovery programs.

In Montreal and many surrounding municipalities, special Christmas tree collections are typically organized in January.

Check your borough's or municipality's collection schedule for the exact dates and disposal guidelines.

Before placing your tree outside, remove all ornaments, lights, garlands, and the tree stand. This allows your tree to be collected and responsibly recycled.
